Pokhara University was established in 1997 under the Pokhara University Act enacted by the parliament of Nepal in the year 1996. In a very short span of time, Pokhara University has been able to create a niche for itself in the field of higher education in Nepal. It is a fast growing University and has earned a good reputation for its excellence in higher education. Pokhara University started its programs with participation of private institutions. At present, there are 23 academic institutions under its affiliation where Bachelor, Master, M. Phil. and Ph.D. degree programs are running. There are about 5000 students altogether in 37 programs. Pokhara University has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the following national and international Universities / Institutions.
